This a working portable intercom. It uses two 9V batteries, or the included 12V cigarette lighter adapter.
The only modification: The previous owner replaced the mic plug, and disabled the PTT via the intercom. The wires are available, in the plug, if you wish to reconnect them. I was using a remote yolk mounted PTT. So, for me this wasn't an issue. If you have a portable PTT, simply plug it in first into the mic jack, then the intercom into the PTT's mic jack, and you're fine.
I've installed a panel mounted 4-place intercom and no longer need this.
