Info about the ZAON XRX PCAS (Personal Collision Avoidance System:
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: This one is already set up to interface with a Garmin. It was sent to Zaon in 2012 and they modified it so that it automatically comes on with aircraft power - no need to turn on the power switch on the front of the unit. The display is also disabled from showing targets on it but sends the info to the GPS unit. For that though you will need a cable that sends the info to the Garmin. They show up from time to time on Ebay and still may be available on Sporty's, Aircraft Spruce, Sarasota Avionics or Gulf Coast Avionics. Zaon made the cable to interface the 796, 696, 496 and 396. They also made cables for other portable GPS brands as well.
Everything in the picture is included: ZAON XRX PCAS unit, Manual, Audio Cable to interface with your headset. Not pictured, but included is a cigarette lighter cable.
The perfect scenario is that you already know and love the Zaon XRX PCAS and have it set up with the cable - and you are replacing a defective Zaon XRX PCAS with this
one that works great.
Keep in mind - do not buy this is you are planning on using it to display traffic on the Zaon itself - it is set up to display traffic to another device. If you have a cable to do this you are all set.
New they were $1595. I am selling this one for $595.
(Keep in mind though that I am selling it for the purpose of interfacing with a Garmin - that's the reason for the reduced price. I know for sure 100% it works for that. If you buy it for any other purpose and then tell me that it doesn't display traffic on the Zaon itself, I told you up front. I guarantee that it will function according to the above description upon arrival.)
