Here's 2 Great Reasons Why You Should Consider
Buying The Cherokee 235...
First - It Has Better Performance Spec's Then The Cherokee 140...
The Cherokee 140 is a great little airplane that goes pretty fast. It would compare to the Cessna 172 in most cases. But some pilots who still want a four seater also want more power and flying range.
The 140 will give you roughly 480 nm of range and the 235 will give you about 700 nm worth of range... These are both estimates as you have to factor in a lot of things like wind, true air speed, weight, exc. But that is a good round number to work with.
Not only that, the 235 is going to cruise quite a bit faster... It will cruise at about 130 to 135 knots compared to the 140 which cruises at about 115 knots. That might not seem like much of a difference, but it is about 15 to 20 percent more.
So when you factor in the higher cruise speeds & the longer range, you can see why it might be worth a good second look. The 140 is a great airplane and should give you many very happy days in the sky, but if you want to upsize - check out the 235...
Second - It Is Very Reasonably Priced...
The one thing that is great about the Cherokee's is that they are for the most part very reasonably priced. Depending on when you are looking, you should be able to pick up a Cherokee 235 for around $50,000.
