Commentary

"Echo Bravo" has treated all of us well, she's been all over the United States and flown regularly with care from its two owners. We have recently had to move to a larger aircraft due to the addition of a new family member. We are sad to see our faithful Mooney go but are excited to see her go into a new aviation family where she will be put through her paces as an outstandingly reliable aircraft.

Echo Bravo has been maintained by an American Airlines mechanic for nearly the last decade and no expense was spared when it came to safety. However, the exterior is a bit dated and does show wear and tear since it was last painted in the early 1990s. Some paint work has been redone to keep up its nice appearance. The interior is in good condition with the back seats in near perfect condition.

You're probably wondering what performance one can expect in this one-of-a-kind airplane. We get 140 KTAS, though leaned you can expect 137 KTAS on 9 GPH cruise, with 10-12 GPH through the climb depending if you're climbing out at 500 FPM or upwards of 1,000 FPM. Last summer when flying to Las Vegas from Dallas we were able to true out in the mid 130s with an average fuel flow of 7.5 GPH through the entire flight. If you're wanting to go faster you can, plan on 10.5 GPH at 148 KTAS. The 3 blade propeller has a distinct advantage of allowing you to climb faster so from 600 MSL (elevation in Dallas) to 12.5k you can expect to average well over 500 FPM on your way up with a moderate fuel flow (10-11 GPH).

The mooney is in annual now, finishing up hopefully by the end of this week.
