This offer is for an authentic Horizontal Situation
Indicator aircraft instrument, AF/A24J-1
by Collins. This model HSI appeared on the pilots cockpit instrument
panel of the iconic Vietnam War era fighter F-4 Phantom (see gallery photo of
the panel) as used by the US Air Force, US Navy, and US Marine Corps. It was also used in a number of other
aircraft, including the F-105 Thunderchief and F-106 Delta Dart. This particular instrument has a repair label from Naval Air Rework Facility Cherry Point NC Q-1 1984 (see photo), so it may have been in a US Marine Corps F-4 or just repaired at that station.
The instrument is 'experienced' but still shows well. The Heading Set knob turns and rotates the directional dial, and the Course Set knob turns and rotates the course degrees. Has been stored in an environmentally controlled stockroom. Making no claim of the ability to be put into air service.
