Aircraft presentation
Aircraft was acquired new by United Airlines in 1980. Its maintenance and upkeep were done by
regulated standards under the FAA and United Airlines. It was sold in 2002 and was put into
maintenance at Aero Sky Facilities in San Antonio, Texas. Powered by JT8D-17 engines which
are the strongest engines of its class, the aircraft was sought after by a European commercial
carrier. Modifications were done to meet European specifications such as TCAS, RVSM,
8.33Mhz Spacing etc.
The current owner purchased the aircraft in November 2006 and in 2007 was inducted into
Romaero's facility for heavy maintenance. The engines have undergone full refurbishment, done
by JAT TEHNIKA Belgrade. Upon maintenance work completion, all checks are up to date, with
no AD/SB still opened.
Aircraft has been already bridged to a Boeing MSG2 maintenance program and will be further
bridged to a MSG3 low utilization program. This will keep operating costs to a minimum since it
will be used as a VIP transport.
