Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. Up for auction, no reserve, is my 1968 Piper Cherokee 140.  The highest bidder will win this aircraft. I fly a Bonanza, this is my 2nd Airplane. I bought it to start a flying club here in Laredo, but I am moving my Anesthesia practice so i must let her go. High bidder will win, I am moving August 14 so i need this airplane gone ASAP after the auction concludes. Let me tell you about this Cherokee. I bought her about a year and a half ago from North Texas. Paint is rough, some hail damage dings here and there on the wings, does not cause any issues flying. I was looking for a club airplane to start a flying club here in Laredo. Myself and my best friend (both V tail Bonanza owners) flew her the last year.  He recently passed away in April so no one has flown her since she's been in annual now for a couple months. We never got the "club" off the ground. We were just too busy, now that i am moving I must let her go. I've put a few pics but i will get much more detailed pics monday and some video. I will try very hard to take some video flying the girl if i can.  About the plane. Hours are roughly 3,300 on TTAF and the Lycoming 0-320 has about 1300 hours on it. This annual however i had 2 new cylinders put on. This annual was EXTENSIVE.  I wanted the airplane super safe and perfect for the club participants. Barker Aeromotive down here in laredo is a fantastic maintenance Depot. Mr. Barker did a once over on this airplane. IT NEEDS NOTHING.  I had him change anything that was remotely questionable. I had all new hoses (yes, all of them), all new wires, both exhausts are brand new, ne brakes and tires,  2 new cylinders (they were not bad but they had a crack on the fin so i replaced them, compressions were all over 78). The carb was rebuilt, i think the starter was replaced, not sure. I'll check. Basically, i wanted a maintenance free, as much as posslble, aircraft for the club. All landing gear was rebuilt, one rear gear leg was replaced as the chrome was not good in the gear leg so i replaced it. I will provide receipts and maintenance records of this annual with the sale.  Logs are intact and with the airplane. The prop has same hours as the engine. I am not sure of the avionics to be honest. I  know there is only one radio. it is digital, i think a terra. I will find out. Single toe brakes, beautiful clean interior. Nice blue. Glass is good. Plane flies awesome, very easy to fly. All new tires also, battery new also. I'm adding as i remember lol.  Avionics are not overwhelming, they are super basic. I was going to put a kx155 in with a GS but did not have time yet. ELT batteries changed. I'm sure more but i cannot think of it. I also have the front nose gear boot, but it needs to be stretched open just a bit, it rubs on the tire a bit, it needs to be worked a bit to open it wider. Yet again, i had no time, but it will go with the airplane.    This is truly a ready to go airplane. it needs nothing. You will not buy this plane and then have to sink a ton of money into her first annual. Not at all. It is already done. Great deal and a great bargain for someone who gets her. I love general aviation to thrive so i am very pleased to give someone a good deal. Plane is registered in my name, feel free to do N Number database check. No liens or money owed on her. She is ready to go. I would fly this airplane ANYWHERE tomorrow. New belts too. new exhaust pipes as i stated but also the shrouds are new as well. I literally gave the airplane to Mr. Barker and told him to "replace anything you feel is not perfect". He did.  Feel free to call him and discuss the aircraft if you wish. Since he has had it in annual for the last 3 months (I told him no rush as i fly my Bonanza), he can attest to its condition and give you a great pre buy inspection via his word.  His shop is international, not a mom and pop place. He does everything from 737's to Cessna 150's. It's a major maintenance depot. he's a great guy and super friendly. I recommend him to anyone looking for a south texas maintenance depot. He takes care of My Bo also. He does everyone's GA aircraft here in Laredo.  As i remember other things i will add them. I think i have a short video on my iphone of the airplane sitting, i'll see and add it. Like i said, monday i will add interior and detailed photos of the airplane. I'm on call all weekend so i cannot get to the airport to take any until monday afternoon. If i can, i will fly her monday and take video, depends if the annual is totally done by monday.  Thanks and good luck people. Keep the blue side up Amigos. PS:  when i say i need the aircraft gone, i mean the deal concluded. There is no charge to "ramp" the airplane here in laredo.  Mr. Barker will be more than happy to let you keep the airplane here as long as you need until you can come fly her away if getting her quickly is an issue. No storage fees or issues at all. Just wanted that cleared up. :)

Sorry folks, I tried to go fly her today but she was still in the shop. To be honest, I do not think they put her in the shop monday. I think they moved her in today. i guess they are swamped in the maintenance shop. Mr. barker assured me she would be ready tomorrow but i'm on call in house 24 hours so i can't get to her. Anyway, the cherokee will be good to go. Thanks.

A reader reminded me of the damage that occurred to the aircraft when it was essentially brand new in 1970.  The damage was of course repaired but i agree with the poster, all information should be provided. I COMPLETELY forgot about this history.  Here is a copy of the FAA accident report.  I want complete transparency.  :)  FILE    DATE          LOCATION          AIRCRAFT DATA       INJURIES       FLIGHT                        PILOT DATA                                                                F  S M/N     PURPOSE ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3-2044  70/5/16    STERLING CITY,TEX   PIPER PA-28         CR-  0  0  1  INSTRUCTIONAL             STUDENT, AGE 31, 64 TOTAL         TIME - 1115                    N6756J              PX-  0  0  0  SOLO                      HOURS, 22 IN TYPE, NOT                                        DAMAGE-SUBSTANTIAL  OT-  0  0  0                            INSTRUMENT RATED.         DEPARTURE POINT             INTENDED DESTINATION           ROBERT LEE,TEX              STERLING CITY,TEX         TYPE OF ACCIDENT                                         PHASE OF OPERATION            GROUND-WATER LOOP-SWERVE                                 LANDING: ROLL            COLLIDED WITH: TREES                                     LANDING: GO-AROUND         PROBABLE CAUSE(S)            PILOT IN COMMAND - IMPROPER COMPENSATION FOR WIND CONDITIONS            MISCELLANEOUS ACTS,CONDITIONS - NOT ALIGNED WITH RUNWAY/INTENDED LANDING AREA         REMARKS- L QUARTERING HEAD WIND,LNDD ON ROAD.DRG GO-AROUND DRIFTED L HIT TREES.
