You are bidding on a color, Bendix/King KLN-94 IFR-Approach, Moving Map GPS. This unit was removed for avionics upgrade in Jan 2014 and is in excellent working condition. The unit came out of my late model C-182S (with low hours) and has had light duty. The panel is unmolested and the unit was pulled in and out so it shows no signs of wear or damage or abuse of any sort. I recently added an Avidyne IFD540 (which is awesome) and this was an upgrade NOT because of problem with the KLN-94. I kept the data base up to date until Sept of 2014 because the unit worked!

Note that the FAA FORM 8130 states "repair" by Gulf Coast; however, there was no repair. The unit was bench tested and validated. This adds confidence and you can be assured that the unit is fully functional.... I guarantee it. See copy of the 8130 form attached in pictures (also shows serial number and P/N). The 8130 will be included of course in the sale.

This unit IS a direct slide-in / upgrade replacement for KLN-89B or a very nice replacement for a damaged KLN-94... or if you have a working unit... buy mine as a backup! They ain't making or repairing them so get ready for future problems! Tray and connectors are included.

Datacard is included but the database will need to be updated (you can use it VFR for North America).

Now, here are the extra goodies.... because I'm the original owner/pilot, I have kept all the extras.

1. A simulator 'commander'. This thing is a huge upgrade. If you have not flown behind one of these units, you will be able to test it without burning up fuel in flight testing. This significantly helps the learning curve since each GPS unit has its own logic. All of the new GPS units out there come with IPAD apps that allow the pilot to learn this logic.... it is very rare to have one of these simulators with the KLN94 color unit. If you want me to shoot a video of the unit in action, let me know (serious buyers only pls!). This is really an important upgrade if you are a new adopter. All cabling, interface adaptors, serial links, etc etc. are included.
