For sale here is an F-101 Voodoo sim cockpit which was made from an F=101B. The F-101 was well known as the One-Oh-Wonder! The Voodoo was a supersonic jet fighter which served the United States Air Force (USAF) and the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). |
The F-101 was initially designed by McDonnell Aircraft as a long-range bomber escort (known as a penetration fighter) for the Strategic Air Command (SAC) but went on to be adapted as a nuclear-armed fighter-bomber for the Tactical Air Command (TAC), and as a photo reconnaissance aircraft. |
The Voodoo's career as a fighter-bomber was relatively brief, but the reconnaissance versions served for some time. Along with the US Air Force's U-2 and US Navy's RF-8 Crusaders. The reconnaissance variant of the Voodoo was instrumental during the Cuban Missile Crisis and saw extensive service during the Vietnam War. |
Above you can see the fit and finish this cockpit received as it was converted into a flight simulator. The instrument panel in this cockpit is very complete as you can see below. |
This instrument panel is very unique with things like a bombing system selector, a gun master switch, radar warning panel, and fire warning lights. Notice the quality of the glass and sharpness of the instrument nomenclature. This panel is unusual because the instruments are mounted off-center to make them perfectly aligned from the pilots viewing position. |

The "Radar Indicator" with this cockpit is "Yellow Tagged" Meaning it was in serviceable condition. (On December 10th 1974 when it was tagged). |
This radar indicator is in very good condition and would look great mounted at the top right of the instrument panel. The instrument panel is ready to place back in the cockpit and the cockpit! |
