1968 Cessna 177 Cardinal   150 HP Lycoming 0-320  E2D  with Power Flow Exhaust, Fixed Pitch, Fixed Gear, 4 place intercom, TKM radios with 50 channel memory on each Nav and each Com and one Glide scope indicator. Approx 2110 hours total time engine and air frame. It is currently Hangared in Murfreesboro, Tennessee but spent most of it's life hangared on the West Coast in California. It had a prop strike when fairly new at about 800 hours, a typical problem for early Cardinals. Slots were installed in the Stabilator per AD and no further issues. Engine was sent into Lycoming following prop strike by one of the previous owners. Has not been flown regularly due to medical reasons. Last annual done in June 2011. I have owned this aircraft since 1993. I really love this plane. I held onto it waiting for the new medical rules to take effect but alas I still won't qualify. Looks like light sport is my only option. But if you are looking for a hands off flyer like a 172, then this is NOT for you. If you fly it, you have to stay ahead of it and fly it all the way to the ground. Prior to my purchase of this plane I had rented Grumman planes and this is much like that. CONTROL.  I thought I had this plane sold a while back but the prospective buyer was not used to a plane like this. His remarks were, "Wow, this isn't like the 172's I'm used to flying." The Power Flow exhaust is GREAT producing a much needed boost to the horse power, They claim about a 24 HP increase.  I didn't change the prop because I wanted to get off the ground and climb out at a respectable rate, but when you level out you have to be ready to power back or you will exceed red line on the tach becausing the engine is breathing so much better with the Power Flow.  Not an issue if you are aware.  A prop with more pitch would probably get a little higher speed but then you would be back to anemic take off performance. The Pilots seat can articulate up and down to accommodate shorter or taller pilots and of course both front seats move fore and aft as well as recline a little. The biggest selling feature that literally sold my wife on this plane was the ease of getting into and out of it. The flat floor, huge doors and no strut to deal with were big deals to her. And I have to admit, when I fly with my friend in his 172, I struggle to get into it with the step down floor and strut limiting the door opening. Even once I am in the 172 I still feel cramped. This is a used plane and is sold at auction as is with a reasonable reserve price. $200 Pay Pal Deposit, balance in certified funds or cash. You are encouraged to come see it in person and/or send a mechanic to do a pre-purchase inspection at your expense. Pick up at buyers expense. I sill not ship this item.
