This is a Garmin GNS 530 WAAS 14/28 VDC GPS/NAV/COM that was used in the development, testing and demonstration of VoiceFlight's VFS101 Speech Recognition System.
This unit was purchased used from Lancaster Avionics, and still has their maintenance tag on the top. The tag is no longer current and should probably be removed by your avionics shop.
The screen on this unit does have some blemishes - I think it would be fair to characterize these as minor - especially relative to some of the other units we listed earlier in the week. An unlit photo of the screen was included to try to illustrate these, but I don't think it is particularly representative (due to lighting). By hand, I'd say that a few blemishes in the bottom/center of the screen are a little more prominent than those in the upper portion of the screen. However, to put this in perspective, there are some (many ?) lighting angles where there are no blemishes readily apparent even when the screen is not lit.
There is an obvious area around the allen wrench installation hole that has lost it black coating. There is also a small amount of white showing to the left of the ENT button. I think the allen wrench installation hole could be touched up significantly with a dab of the right color of paint.
A photo was included of the Nav Page showing a good solid GPS satellite lock with an external GPS antenna.
This listing includes the GNS 530W as well as a new Tray, BackPlate and Connector Kit as illustrated. A GPS antenna is not included.
