1968 Alon Aircoupe A2-A N5478F has been owned by an Inspection Authorized aircraft mechanic since 2006. He is refocusing his attention on his Navion project.
Airframe:
Total Time only 2020 hours. This is a unique aircraft: Mooney actually built this aircraft and this was the last year of the classic tail. Mooney quickly changed over to the “Cadet” with the forward slant tail. Here is the rare twin-tail Aircoupe built by Mooney.
Engine:
Continental C90-16F @ 90 horsepower. Only 300 SMOH in 2008 with new ECI cylinders. This engine starts easily, runs smoothly, no leaks.
Avionics:
Becker AR4201 COM with 760 freq.
VAL INS 422 Integrated NAV system
Garmin 296 GPS
PM1000II Intercom
King KT76A transponder with ACK-30 encoder

Status:
This aircraft is NOT eligible for LSA. Annual
inspection due May 1, 2015. No corrosion issues. In 1968, the
aircraft was damaged during a training flight when the instructor simulated an
engine failure and then the engine did not respond after a long glide resulting
in an off-airport landing. All
repairs appear well documented and properly done. Very slight wrinkle on top fuselage skin just forward of the horizontal stabilizer.
Fuel capacity: 24 gal.
Gross weight: 1450 lbs.
