The VIRB Elite Aviation Bundle includes everything you need to film your flights in full, high-contrast, undistorted 1080p quality. The VIRB Elite action camera allows you to easily adjust resolution and filming speed right from its 1.4” Chroma viewfinder/menu display for crisp, dramatic slow motion up to 120fps. And it’s all captured through our WideVü lens and processed through 16-megapixel sensor for the highest quality video, even before you start editing it. VIRB Elite is a high-powered digital photo camera too; shoot 16 megapixel, 12 megapixel or 8 megapixel photos as a single shot (on-camera button or controlled remotely) or choose Photo Burst or Time Lapse at various intervals.
GPS and Sensors
VIRB Elite has high-sensitivity GPS for data stamping and GPS-based “smart” recording, which automatically pauses recording when you’re not moving. It also includes a barometric altimeter so you can overlay your altitude, as well an accelerometer that can measure the changes in g-forces you encounter. A lithium-ion battery provides up to 3 hours recording at 1080p. And with multiple charging options (sold separately) you’ll have plenty of juice. Extend your filming time by carrying a replacement battery (sold separately) in your flight bag.
Control Wirelessly
VIRB Elite offers wireless connectively, so you can control it right from your wrist using D2™ pilot watch. Quickly turn the camera on and off, record video and snap still pictures. Wi-Fi connectivity also mean you can control the camera from your tablet or smart phone – especially useful if you’re already flying using the Garmin Pilot app (a free 6-month trial is included). Want to capture the action from multiple angles? VIRB cameras can talk to each other, so mount up to 10 cameras around your cockpit and control them all at once.
Sleek and Simple to Use
VIRB Elite was engineered for easy operation with a large, instant record slider switch on the side of the camera. The slide and click of the switch makes it easy to know that you are recording, even if you’re wearing gloves. Enhanced for Aviation

VIRB Edit is free desktop editing software for both Mac and PC that you can download to your computer for intuitive, robust video editing that takes advantage of VIRB for Aviation’s compatibility with external and built-in sensors and other Garmin devices. Aviation-specific skins allow you to inset speed, altitude, location, g-forces and more. Once you have the video you want to share, upload it for all your friends to see.
Mount and Go
A variety of mounts let you firmly lock the camera in position, virtually anywhere¹. The VIRB Elite Aviation Bundle comes with flat and curved surface mounts, as well as suction cup mount and an adapter that helps fit the action camera to a variety of popular industry mounts. A number of other mounting options are available as accessories, as well. All VIRB mounts have interlocking joints that grip in place instead of relying solely on tension for a more durable, anti-vibration locking performance.
