You are bidding on a hangared, frequently flown and well cared for 1978 Piper Tomahawk PA-38-112 with NO RESERVE.

The Tomahawk was designed as a two-seat trainer but is also a comfortable cross country airplane.  It has great performance and in cruise it will run away from a Cessna 150.  The comfortable cabin measures 42 inches - about the same width as a Bonanza, and has tons of head room with 50 inches from floor to ceiling.  There are two entry doors so you do not have to climb over a seat. The low wing gives great 360 degree visibility from the entire cockpit allowing you to see into the turns, which is much safer.  It has a wide spring main landing gear which makes it very stable and making smooth landings is easy.  It is easy to trim and the flight control feel is nice.   This airplane just had a thorough annual in September and will be a fun, low-cost airplane for it's new owner.

This Tomahawk is tricked out with Sterling Technologies Piper Tomahawk STC's.  Sterling Technologies heavy duty nose gear link installed 1998.  The $4,000 Sterling Technologies Wing Life Extension STC was installed 2003.  The wing life is now extended until 18,746 hours!  Included with the sale is a Bruce's Custom Cover so that it could be covered on trips in case a hangar was not available.  Current TTAF 11,490hrs with 7,256 hrs of life left in the wings.

The engine is an excellent running G&N Overhauled, Lycoming 0-235-L2C four cylinder engine, which is 112 hp.  In cruise at 5,000' it burns 5 gallons per hour.  Absolutely no oil leaks and runs smooth.  Compression tests at September annual were 72, 80, 76, 79 out of 80.  TSMOH 2,577

This aircraft is in good condition and is flown regularly. The aircraft is hangared near Winston Salem, NC.   We have all the original logbooks and complete records.

The avionics are standard Tomahawk panel with VOR, KX170B Nav/Com with a FlightCom Intercom and panel jacks for headsets.  Transponder is Mode C with a KT76A.  Pitot Static / Transponder tests are current until October 2015.  ELT batteries good to June 2015.

The paint rates at a 7+ out of 10 and the plane looks really nice.  The glass and tires are in excellent condition.  The interior also rates a 7+ out of 10.  Glare shield is covered in a nice leather finish.
