Recent Restoration! Very nice looking. I bought the aircraft as a basket case and completed the restoration. I am now selling it to make way for the next project.

The Stits Polyfiber covering process was used along with Aerothane paint. The colors are Stinson Maroon with Insignia White star bursts and Federal Grey trim. The wings have wood spars. Upon inspection, slight damage was found on the right wing main spar resulting in its replacement. A new wood spar from Rainbow Flying Service was used. Lots of inspection rings were installed to assist in inspecting the spar in the event that a borescope/bend-a-lite is not available. There is an Escort II Com/Nav and an intercom with forward and rear push-to-talk's.

During the restoration, many new parts were installed on the Airframe:
All new windows
New 5-pt Hooker Harnesses
New sealed battery
New Ameriking AK-450 ELT
New style gear leg U-bolts
New carpet
New cabin heat valve
New park brake valve
New tailwheel tire, tube, and wheel
All new wing attach hardware
New control hinge bushings and bolts

Engine:
New spark plugs
New ignition harness
New baffle rubber seal
All new manifold pressure, fuel, and oil hoses
Cylinders honed and new rings installed
New engine mount rubber bushings
New engine mount bolts

This aircraft is powered by an economical Lycoming IO-320-E1A. The engine was last overhauled in 1984 after a prop strike incident. The inverted oil system has been upgraded to the Christen Inverted system. The engine had been sitting dormant for a prolonged period of time before I obtained it. All 4 cylinders, the accessory case, and the oil sump were removed in order to thoroughly inspect the internal of the engine. Fortunately, the engine had been pickled properly and had absolutely no sign of corrosion or wear. There was silicon around the intake tube coming out of the sump, prompting me to suspect leakage. I sent the oil sump to Divco for overhaul. While apart, the cylinders were honed and new rings were installed. The engine was reassembled and painted with engine enamel. I like the look of contrast, so may have gone a bit overboard with the painting. I painted the crankcase, accessory case, and sump Lycoming gray; the cylinder barrels were painted black and the cylinder heads and rocker box covers were painted Lycoming gray. The rocker box screw heads were painted black.

The aircraft was annualed November 20, 2014. All AD's have been complied with. Empty weight is 1315 lbs. Delivery available to the lower 48 for expenses.
Aircraft is located in Willmar, MN and is for sale locally. I reserve the right to end the auction early. CFI piloted demo flight and aircraft checkout available. If you have any other questions, call (605)203-1354
