U. S. Army Cessna T-41B. Serial # 67-15084. Cessna serial # R1720085, FAA Registration N62217.
1500 man hour restoration completed in 2015, several hundred photos of the restoration are available along with several videos of the aircraft in flight both external and cockpit views. This is a solid no problem aircraft, no issues. Complete and highly detailed logs back to the day it left the Army. Boxes and binders full of documents

Many people confuse the T-41A and T-41B . The T-41A is an off the shelf C-172, with stock civilian interior, with the O-300 engine of 145 hp. The T-41B was built for the Army using the C-175 type certificate and has very little in common with the T-41A except the tail cone. The T-41B has a six cylinder, fuel injected, 210 HP engine, constant speed prop, quick release bailout doors, parachute type seats, both cabin windows open, both front seats fully articulate and adjust up and down, and heavy duty full size nose gear. The air frame has been strengthened and the wings carry 52 gallons of fuel. Only 255 were built and less than 100 remain registered with the FAA. Of that number around a dozen still have the original 210 HP engine. Most were converted to a Lycoming 180 hp engine by the CAP using C-172 cowlings. The Lycoming converted T-41B aircraft have different cowlings a small exhaust and a chin air filter. Most people have never seen a real T-41B. Our aircraft was equipped with the same radios and antennas as a Cessna O-2 when it left the factory. We reinstalled each antenna back in it's original factory location.

History: Built November 1966, served in U.S. Army 1967 to 1974. U. S. Government, Dept. Of Justice/Drug Enforcement Administration 1974 thru 1995. Aircraft was based in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico flying drug interdiction missions. In 1994 the DEA had the original panel removed and replaced with a more modern laser cut metal panel and equipped the aircraft with new Hawk XP yokes, Horton STOL kit, STEC system 40 auto pilot, King HSI system, whelen wing tip and tail strobes and 760 channel KX-165 radios.

In 1994 the aircraft went to Navy Flying Clubs and we bought the aircraft from the Jacksonville Navy Flying Club Jan. 2014.

Airframe: TT 10,300, complete IRAN nose to tail with too many new parts to list. Here are a few: New rear inboard wing spars due to cracks found at flap attach points. several new cables, flaps rebuilt, new glass, and almost all new wiring. Interior stripped out, inspected painted and new sound proofing and new old stock interior panels installed. New old stock seat cushions and all new certified belts and harness. New  bushings in rudder and elevator, brakes rebuilt with new disks and pads, New tires and tubes. All military antennas were reinstalled in their original locations. Nose wheel strut rebuilt, new fuel transmitters installed, there are simply too many things to list..  All fuel and oil lines were replaced with new in 2015 along with all new fire sleeve.

Engine: Original Army Continental IO-360-DB 210 HP with Constant speed prop. Engine was overhauled in 2010 with new factory cylinders, new steel engine mount, new stainless exhaust, Current time SMOH is 750 hours. We have flown the aircraft a little over 100 hours since restoration was completed. Everything FWF is either new or overhauled since 2010. We replaced the engine driven fuel pump and prop governor with new units, electric aux pump new, fuel injection system sent out for overhaul. Engine was pulled, inspected, and all gaskets replaced, new plugs and harness all wiring replaced including the battery cable, all solenoids new.

Prop: overhauled in Birmingham Ala, in 2015 during restoration.

Avionics: instrument panel was completely removed and all instruments, inspected for condition and operation, STEC AP was sent in for overhaul, a very nice Garmin GNC 420 was installed along with a new Sandia solid state STX 165 transponder. All original engine instruments were removed and replaced with electronic STC/PMA units The fuel gauges were replaced with a Aerospace STC/PMA electronic unit.  The KX-165 and Garmin GNC 420 are coupled to the STEC and will fly approaches, The King HSI system includes a remote compass and works flawlessly. Avionics work was done by Monarch Aviation in Defuniak, FL.

Interior: The seats and interior panels are all original new old stock. The DEA removed the rear seat in 1994 in order to install a 17 gal aux tank which we removed. We have the back seat and can easily be installed. The current WT & Balance reflects the seat removed.

Weight and Balance, done in 2015 after new strip an paint. Empty Weight is 1572 lbs. Gross Weight is 2500 Lbs. useful load is 928 lbs. Fuel capacity is 52 gallons with 46 usable in all attitudes with 50 gallons usable in level flight.

Aircraft was built on the C175 TC and Cessna used C-182 main gear legs and a heavy duty 600x6 nose gear. Normal cruise is 115 mph at 9.5 GPH at 3,000 feet. and 22 inches mp. Takeoff and landing distances are very short and the aircraft has very good rate of climb.

Some of the best things about the T-41B are ease of entry and exit, roomy, and very easy to fly, insurance companies carry it as a C-172 and our annual premium is $1,000 for $79,000 hull and One Million Smooth Liability.

Paint and markings, we finished the aircraft like one of those shipped to Laos in the 1970s to fight in the Secret War being conducted by the CIA. Paint and markings are highly documented.

I cannot ship the aircraft and will not export it. Delivery withing the Continental US and owner checkout are available at buyer expense
