1961 Cessna 172C.  I took this on trade for another airplane.  It is a little ratty on the inside but runs and flies good.  The seats are original they have some tears but are still comfortable and serviceable.  The headliner has been patched with white duct tape, if you think the tape looks bad you should see it without any.  The compass and attitude indicator are both driven by the venturi on the right side of the plane.  The compass is inop, the attitude indicator is unreliable.  It has a KX 170B that works good.  The transponder works fine as well.  There is a panel dock for a Garmin 496.

The plane was stripped and painted in 1987.  It had some work done on the right wing in 1999.  In the 80's the right wing was replaced with a serviceable used wing.  Other than that I don't think it has other damage history.  The windshield was replaced a couple years ago.  The rest of the glass is in good shape.  There is a crack in the left wing tip and some paint chipped off the right wing tip.  It has some hanger rash on the right elevator.  There is a small hole in the left cowling where a baffle rubbed through.

The engine is an 0-300-D and was installed in September by the previous owner it has 1820 total time and SMOH.  The compressions are in the 70's.  I have flown it a few hours it doesn't seem to use much oil and runs really well and smooth.  The engine is weeping some oil around the front seal, after about 5 hours of flying you can start to see it on the windshield.  It's not more than a few drops but does show up.   It also has an autogas STC.

The hours on the plane are

Airframe    TT  3300
Engine SMOH  1820
Annual was done 7/2014

I have all the logs since new on both the airframe and engine.

If you want a decent, reliable old airplane to beat around in on nice days then this one is a candidate.  If you are looking for a perfect airplane then keep looking.  It runs and flies real well.  It looks decent and with some interior work would be a fine airplane.  I invite you to come take a look and fly it.  It is currently at LL45 but could also be seen at Litchfield, IL (3LF).
