Overview
This is a great chance to purchase a great flying, economical cross-country plane at a great price. I have owned this Comanche since June of 2008; however, I have a great opportunity to upgrade. Since I have identified my replacement plane, I am looking for a quick sale and thus the eBay ad. The plane has just come out of its annual (complete Dec 2014) and is a very nice flying plane for the money. It is inexpensive to fly (at 9-10 gph) and maintain. The areas it is lacking in are the engine time and it has original paint. The only known issue is the parking brake is disconnected (toe brakes and handle brake still work).
The price reflects the higher time engine, but compressions are still strong, it only uses 1-1.5 quarts of oil between changes (25hrs), and no metal is found in the screen at changes. The Lycoming 0-360 is a bullet-proof engine that is typically run well beyond its 2000 hr TBO.
Prop was just overhauled 65 hours ago (Sept 2011) by H&S. All ADs (including the recent stabilizer horn assembly) have been complied with.
This Comanche is kept in a hanger and is regularly flown (we put 32 hours on between annuals this past year)
Paint is original - a positive of this is the original Piper corrosion proofing hasn't been removed. However, the negative is that the paint is pretty dull and there are a few chips/scratches. The pictures above will show two problem areas - the left wing has two areas that are flaking (about 3" square each). The right flap is flaking across most of the length. I have some matching paint to touch these up and was planning on doing so this spring versus paying to repaint the entire aircraft (which I do not believe is necessary at this point). Interior is average and the panel has been updated from the original Comanche configuration.
