A HIGH WING PIPER THAT ISNT A CUB?

WHAT IT CAN PROVIDE IS ECONOMICAL  FLYING FUN, WITH A PRACTICAL TWIST !!

THIS IS A 4 PASSENGER PLANE, NOT A TOY !!

2 DOORS, RIGHT FRONT AND LEFT REAR, MAKES IT COMFORTABLE FOR BOTH FRONT AND REAR PASSENGERS TO ENTER OR EXIT (MUCH EASIER THAN A CHEROKEE !!)

EASY TO SEE AND OPERATE INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS, FAR BETTER THAN EARLY BONANZAS, CESSNAS, OR OF COURSE, MOONEYS !!

ALTHOUGH THIS AIRPLANE SUSTAINED SOME DAMAGE, IT WAS NOT A MOVING ACCIDENT !!

STORED IN A HANGER FOR PROTECTION, AS IS RECOMMENDED FOR FABRIC AIRPLANES, THE HANGER DOOR SWUNG UPWARDS AT THE BOTTOM DUE TO HIGH WINDS.

THE HANGER DOOR IMPACTED THE LOWER COWLING, WHICH PUT PRESSURE ON THE FIREWALL SKIN AND BOOTCOWL SKIN, WRINKLING THEM,  AND PUSHED THE RUDDER BACK INTO ANOTHER AIRCRAFT.

THAT IS THE EXTENT OF THE AIRFRAME DAMAGE !!

NO DAMAGE TO THE FUSELAGE TUBING OR FABRIC !!

NO DAMAGE TO THE WINGS, FLAPS, OR AILERONS !!

NO DAMAGE TO THE LIFT STRUTS !!

NO APPARENT DAMAGE TO ANY OF THE LANDING GEAR !!

YOU MIGHT THINK THAT REPLACING THE FIREWALL AND BOOTCOWL SKIN (THE ARE RIGHT BEHIND THE FIREWALL AND FORWARD OF THE WINDSHIELD, BUT IT'S NOT ON THIS AIRPLANE !!

AS THIS IS A TUBING FUSELAGE, THE FIREWALL AND BOOTCOWL ARE MEARLY SCREWED ON SKINS, NOT STRUCTURAL, STRESSED SUPPORT MEMBERS LIKE LATER AIRPLANES ARE.

IN FACT, THE FIREWALL AND BOOTCOWL ARE SIMPLY SCREWED ON WITH SHORT SHHET METAL SCREWS, NO RIVITING AT ALL !!

PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER REPLACEMENT !!

THE TUBULAR ENGINE MOUNT AND TUBULAR NOSEGEAR SUPPORT MOUNT BOTH ATTACH TO TUBING IN THE CABIN, NOT TO THE FIREWALL SKIN, AND NEITHER THE NOSEGEAR MOUNT, THE ENGINE MOUNT, OR THE FUSELAGE MOUNTS SEEM TO HAVE ANY DAMAGE !!

THE ENGINE WAS UNBOLTED FROM THE MOUNT AFTER THE INCIDENT, AND NEITHER IT NOR ANY OF THE ITEMS WHICH BOLT TO THE MOUNT ARE INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION.

ALL OF THE FIREWALL MOUNTED ITEMS ARE INCLUDED, AS ARE THE ENGINE MOUNT, OIL COOLER, AND COWLINGS.

THE LOWER COWLING IS SLIGHTLY DENTED AND HAS A CRACK, BUT THE MAJORITY OF THE DAMAGE IS TO THE "CHIN SCOOP" RIVITED TO THE LOWER COWL. THIS CHIN SCOOP IS DESTROYED.

THE UPPER COWLING AND LATCHES LOOKS UNDAMAGED

THE ADDITIONAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRFRAME IS TO THE RUDDER, WHICH CONTACTED ANOTHER AIRPLANE WHEN THIS AIRPLANE WAS PUSHED BACK.

THE RUDDER IS DESTROYED, BUT THE ROTATING BEACON ON THE TOP IS STILL OK !!

THE VERTICAL FIN SURPRISINGLY DOES NOT SEEM TO SHOW ANY DAMAGE,  AND NEITHER DOES THE HORIZONTAL OR ELEVATORS (ONE ELEVATOR REMOVED TO MAKE THE TAIL NARROW ENOUGH FOR TRANSPORT, BUT IT IS UNDAMAGED AND INCLUDED)

BOTH WINGS, CONTROL SURFACES AND LIFT STRUTS ARE UNDAMAGED, AND THE WINGS ARE IN VERY GOOD SHAPE !!

BOTH MAIN GEAR APPEAR UNDAMAGED, AND ALTHOUGH THERE IS A SCRAPE IN THE NOSEGEAR PAINT, THE GEAR ASSEMBLY MOVES EASILY AND APPEARS STRAIGHT IN ALL AREAS.

INSIDE, THE DASH HAS COMPLETELY UPDATED AND MODERN FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS !!

THE WINGS ARE OFF FOR EASY TRANSPORT, BUT THE CONTROL CABLES WERE NOT CUT, THEY WERE UNBOLTED, SO REASSEMBLY WILL BE EASY.

THE ENGINE WAS ALSO PROPERLY REMOVED, WITH THROTTLE AND MIXTURE CABLES AND ELECTRICAL WIRING UNBOLTED, NOT CUT.

THIS IS A VERY STRAIGHTFORWARD REPAIR, ALL BOLT OR SREW ON, NO RIVITING.
