Item recovered locally, untested and sold AS IS. This auction is for a Vintage King Radio Corp VOR INDICATOR, Model KI-211A, This came in with a few other avionic instruments. I would have to say this is probably about the same age as the other item I listed, around 1958. Nice little unit with a black face and a dial with knob on front. The knob says OBS and when turned, makes the dial numbers turn also. Various numbers on the dial from 0 to 0 (or 360) to show where you are going to (ex: 10) and coming from (ex:190). Says TO and FROM on the face and has two red rectangles that say OFF and an upside down arc on the bottom, one side is blue the other is yellow. Back of unit has a gold pinned 20 pin connector with guides on each side. Metal plaque on connector says KI-211A INDICATOR WT. 3 LBS - 1 OZS SERIAL NO 10638 KING RADIO CORP. OLATHE, KANSAS. Another sticker on back says "THIS RECEIVER COMPLIES WITH PART 15 SUB. PART C OF THE F.C.C. RULES AND REGULATIONS". There is also a connector with a coax type bayonet on the sides, might be for an antenna? I have no idea how this works and even if I did, have no technical knowledge to even know how to use it. A nice item to have if you are restoring an old aircraft from that general era and want some OEM type guages/indicators. Thanks for your time.
P.S. I decided to open the case right after I listed the item and noticed there is a very fragile string like material that makes the dial keep synched so that is is 180 degrees apart. This seems to have deteriorated to a point where it will need to be replaced. It is still hanging on "by a few threads", but wanted to let you know it was like this. Took a few pictures to show how it looks. Thanks.
