The dielectric (insulating) material extends out of the connector body for easier cleaning and lower loss, plus it is Teflon!  Works great to replace that antenna that has been bent one too many times, or has gotten too dirty to clean. Or, an older antenna where the dielectric material has started to break down, causing high losses and ATC to tell you they can't "see" your transponder anymore. This antenna is made in the USA.

Compatibility Questions?

Guaranteed compatible with all general aviation transponders, 1090 MHz ADS-B equipment, and DME, where the cable from the transponder ends in the common male twist-on BNC connector. This antenna fits in place of most previous monopole rod antenna installations with no modification. Contact me and your A&P or avionics shop for suggestions on mounting to composite or fabric-covered aircraft, for best coverage. I'll take any other application questions as well!
