This is out of my 182Q. My AVIONICS technician said that before we tried to get the moving map to work on the KLN 89 that we should always put a fresh data card in it so I bought a fresh data card however it did not fix the problem. I’ve pulled the unit. I’m giving the KLN 89 away free as a bonus . I would like $350 for the data card which cost 400 to get an updated one.
The data card will fit the KLN 89 and 89/B.
The condition of the KLN 89 is it apparently does not hook up to my Autopilot anymore and the moving map doesn’t seem accurate. However the OBS works just fine and every other function for instance speed distance to a way point and the screen is perfect as well, except for the moving map doesn’t report accurately. so to me, the data card has value the KLN 89 might be repairable to get it back to full strength.
