The Terra TPX-720 was a panel-mounted Mode A transponder used in general aviation aircraft throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, helping aircraft identify themselves to ATC radar systems. Terra Corporation was known for designing compact, lightweight avionics marketed toward light sport aircraft and homebuilders. Their slogan was essentially “small enough for your panel, tough enough for your skies.” While not as flashy as Garmin or King, Terra radios were widely praised for being no-nonsense and dependable—especially for pilots flying out of uncontrolled fields.
